Cookie Policy
Everything this site can store on your device, what each item does, how long it lasts, and how to change your mind. Last reviewed 12 September 2026.
The short version
This site sets two first-party items that it needs in order to work at all, and nothing else unless you switch it on. There is no analytics provider installed. The Microsoft Advertising measurement tag is never loaded until you allow it, and no measurement tag identifier is configured at present, so allowing it currently loads nothing at all.
Your decision is stored on your own device and is replayed to Microsoft Consent Mode v2 on every page load, so a tag can never observe a state you did not choose.
Strictly necessaryalways on
Needed for the site to work: form integrity, request rate limiting, and remembering the choice you make here. These rest on our legitimate interest in operating a secure website and cannot be switched off.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| aoy_consent_v1 | Local storage (first party) | Stores your cookie decision so you are not asked again | 12 months |
| aoy_csrf | Session cookie (first party) | Protects the quote and contact forms against cross-site request forgery | Until the browser is closed |
Preferencesoff until you allow it
Remembers the figures you enter in the fee estimator, on this device only, so they survive a page reload or a trip to another page and back.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| aoy_estimator_v1 | Local storage (first party) | Retains the inputs you entered in the fee estimator on this device | 30 days |
Analyticsoff until you allow it
Would let us measure, in aggregate, which pages get read and where people give up. No analytics provider is installed on this site today; the control exists so your choice is already on record if one is added.
Nothing is set in this category today. The control exists so your choice is already recorded if that ever changes.
Advertising measurementoff until you allow it
Allows Microsoft Advertising measurement (the UET tag) to attribute an enquiry to the advertisement that brought you here. Nothing is loaded and no advertising cookie is set unless you switch this on.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| _uetsid, _uetvid | Third-party cookies set by Microsoft (bat.bing.com) | Advertising measurement and conversion attribution for Microsoft Advertising | _uetsid 1 day, _uetvid 13 months |
Microsoft Consent Mode v2
Before anything else runs, a small script in the page head denies every storage purpose: ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, analytics_storage, functionality_storage and personalization_storage. Only your decision can move any of them to granted, and the update is pushed to the Microsoft UET queue at the same moment it is saved.
If you allow advertising measurement, Microsoft Corporation may receive measurement events and set the cookies listed above. That can involve a transfer of data to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Declining leaves the script unloaded, so there is no transfer at all rather than a transfer with the settings turned down.
Changing your mind
Use the button below, or the Change your cookie choices link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing preferences consent also deletes the estimator figures stored on your device, immediately, rather than leaving them there unused.
You can also clear cookies and site data from your browser settings, which removes our record of your decision and means you will be asked again.
